BigCityBeats SPACE CLUB KITCHEN announces the Alfred Wegener Institut as an official host.
The research vessel Polarstern operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute, the AWIPEV research base in the Arctic, and the Neumayer-Station III in Antarctica will participate in the „BigCityBeats - SPACE CLUB KITCHEN“. Thus, the „largest club music dinner event in the history of mankind“ orbits from the stars to the Arctic and Antarctic ice and deep into the oceans. The Alfred Wegener Institute conducts research in the extreme habitats of the polar regions and the oceans – from our atmosphere above to the bottom of our seas. As an internationally recognized center of excellence in polar and marine research, the AWI is one of the few scientific institutions in the world that is as equally active in the Arctic as the Antarctic. Its state-of-the-art scientific infrastructure – ships, stations, and aircraft – is used by researchers worldwide. Understanding the Earth’s climate patterns and protecting the diversity of life has increasingly become one of the main focuses of scientific research conducted.
