This series was adapted from a GDC talk called building a better jump by Kyle Pitman. We go over the same priciples as that talk and implement them in the Godot Game Engine. Now that we have control over our jump height and the time we spent in the air, there’s a few different directions we can go in a few different directions for our jump distance. I was hinting at in earlier in the last video where we set the TimeToPeak based on how far we want our player to be able to jump. But we can actually take it a step further and calculate our movement speed programmatically.
