Linda Ortiz had struggled for the last decade with lymphedema and lipedema which caused her legs to swell. She had 15 pounds of fat, tissue and liquid hanging from one leg and 11 pounds from the other, which put her quality of life, career and ability to walk and care for her two young daughters in jeopardy.
But thanks to Dr. Kuldeep Singh, director of limb salvage surgery at Staten Island University Hospital, he was able to remove both masses in two separate operations known as debulking surgery that’s giving her a new life for the New Year.
