Recently, a viewer pointed out that an update to Citra made dual screen setup even easier on Steam Deck. This video demonstrate the new layout option for anyone looking for a visual aid.
Citra details:
We're using Citra version Nightly-1824 for this video. Make sure to update Citra if you haven't done so in a while.
Written guide:
You can enable splitting each virtual 3DS screen into its own window (kinda like how Cemu handles the gamepad display). To make it work, jut go to the Screen Layout settings in the View menu and select "Separate Windows." Anyone who used our previous guide (or tinkered with their config files any) may also need to restore their stock config file to avoid some awkward stretching of the gameplay stream.
As a reminder, that config file's located at Home, .var, app, org.citra_emu.citra, config, citra-emu in your Steam Deck's directory. It's named qt-config.ini for us.
If you deleted your original config file, check out our Ko-Fi shop for a free download of ours or try deleting your files and letting Citra regenerate it.
