GitHub Copilot is an Artificial Intelligence plugin for Visual Studio Code that, at least in theory, helps you to create a better code in less time. Trained by millions of open-source lines of code hosted in GitHub, it offers complete code snippets when you need them. And yes, it works!
There are, however, some legal questions. For example: if AI suggests you a code snippet based on GPLv3 licensed code, is this a derivative, and should your code also be licensed under GPLv3? What about mixing not-compatible licenses? Is it ok to use Copilot in companies that create proprietary software? No idea, but for sure it's fun to use!
