This video will compare the largest cities in the world from years 1400 to 2023. Technically, there is data starting from 1 AD, and I could have started there, but the data was sparse in those early years, and it would have required an inappropriate amount of data extrapolation. Therefore, the video begins by showcasing the population data for the individual years of 1, 700, 900, and 1100, skipping past the years in between that had sparse data. Anyways, this video aligns the cities with the corresponding country or empire during each year, so you can get a feel for the flags of different empires and the historical control of each city by various countries throughout history, which is more interesting!
