Every AWS certification can be earned without a prerequisite. Yes, you can go for the top-tier AWS certs without learning the basics. But is that the right place to start?
In this video, CBT Nuggets trainer Bart Castle (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaCZnknpM1TpUnJHl0fv0OA) discusses why you should consider pursuing something like SysOps Administrator instead of jumping on the Solutions Architect bandwagon.

-----------------
The AWS Solutions Architect certification was only released a few years ago, so it shouldn't be any stretch of the imagination to suggest attitudes towards this new certification are similar to that of the technology marketplace as a whole; in both cases, we often suffer from recency bias and shiny object syndrome.
Even though the certification is a relatively new addition to the AWS certification pathway, its arrival doesn't mean hiring managers are explicitly looking for it. Additionally, job positions related to AWS Solutions Architect would require real-world experience with enterprise networking, virtualization, and automation - so getting familiar with foundational skills in AWS administration is a crucial first step for beginners.
