This video shows the way a lens's focal length affects the perspective of an entire shot. We hope it helps to understand how easy it is to exaggerate the size of a background object using a telephoto lens. On the other hand, an ultra-wide lens may help to emphasize your subject by pushing a background further away.
It covers telephoto (135mm) to ultra-wide (16mm) angles showing two different approaches:
1. We will move towards our subject to keep its size in a frame.
2. After that, we will start over without moving the camera.
The video shows focal length values for both a Full Frame sensor and a Crop (x1.6) sensor when the same lens is used.
