Flying across the globe to surf a new wave we found on google earth. The biggest Indian ocean swell in decades wrapped into all kinds of nooks and crannies that typically never see swell.
Three years of meticulous planning, gathering a crew, pulling the trigger. And the results? We may have just found a never before surfed righthand drainer. The wave was amazing. It barreled non stop for 8 miles along a sandbar that only sees swell once a decade, if that. The wave was perfect in every way except for one major flaw, it ended up being a bit too fast. No matter how hard you try, what spot along the point you were at, or what board/ fin setup you had, there was a zero percent chance of keeping up with it.
