So wouldn't it be nice to view all your Make the Cut files as an image preview? Make the Cut came out with a FREE MTC File Thumbnail Viewer. This was probably one of the most requested features to have because before this viewer came out - you would have had to either place a png export next to your MTC file or you'd have to go to open the MTC program and view them one by one. Now something to note - this viewer as of right now only works for windows vista, 7, & 8 - this doesn't not work windows xp. However maybe in the future the creators of MTC will try to make it work but you have to think that XP is an old operation system. You know it's over 10 years old.
So with this new add-on in came with a few new features that we will point out in this video... and towards the end of this video we're going to show you how to install this so you too can view your MTC files.
Basically this viewer is giving you a little preview screen shot of everything that you set to be visible on your mat for all your MTC files. And this works on all versions of MTC files from 1.0 to Current. You can view them in your normal windows explorer that you've been using it for your normal JPG images.
Now this is by design by giving you as much detail about the MTC file by simply glancing at thumbnail preview. By having the green mat with the thumbnail it helps with the confusion of you thinking it's an actual image JPEG or Bitmap image. So you know if you double click on the preview it will open up in Make the Cut.
So another detail you can get by simply looking at the preview is mat orientation...You can tell if the MTC file was saved in Landscape or Portrait. Just look for those thicker lines. If it's on the top and bottom then the file was saved in Portrait... if you see the fatter lines on the sides then it was saved in Landscape. Another thing to note is look at the dots. The number of dots tell you how many pages are in that MTC file. As you can see in the warm and cozy pages file I have here it has more dots than the one next to it. So if I were to select it you can see that it has two pages. Likewise if I were to open the Zoo Palz pages file you will see it has 5 and 5 dots. So it's pretty neat
