On July 12, 2022, 4 impressive images from the new James Webb Space Telescope were published. ✔ The cliffs of the Carina Nebula ✔ The Southern Ring Nebula ✔ Stephan's Quintet ✔ Deep Field Cluster of Galaxies SMACS 0723 The distortion in the Deep Field image was created by the powerful gravitational field of the galaxy cluster, which can bend the light rays from more distant galaxies behind it, just as a magnifying glass bends and warps images.
