The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023, will replace the old Indian Penal Code (IPC) with new section numbers. For instance, Section 420 (Cheating) in the IPC will now be covered under Section 316 in the proposed Sanhita. The proposed Sanhita redefines and renumbers various sections, but these changes may still be subject to further review and revision by the Standing Committee and Parliament.
