In the second part of our Ultimate Metal Gear Retrospective, we turn our attention to what I can confidently say is my favourite video game ever created, Metal Gear Solid 2. Being touted as one of the best games in Kojima's catalogue, MGS2 develops on the foundations that MGS1 setup in almost every way imaginable. Refined gameplay, intriguing characters, intense scenarios and one of the best narratives to be featured in a video game in my opinion. Today, we'll be going over all these elements, observing what made the game so polarising at the time of its release, and piecing together the social commentary that lies at the heart of the experience.
