Coyote tested positive for rabies! While driving home with my teenage daughters on a Saturday night, we saw this crazy looking coyote attacking my neighbors dogs. I tried to scare it off by shining my headlights at it, hoping it would just run off and return to nature - and it seemed to be working. But then it turned (at the 0:42 mark), bared its bloody teeth and attacked my car. Realizing this coyote was extremely aggressive and probably had rabies, I called 911. After the description of the situation they decided to dispatch. The Huntersville Police Department successfully tracked the coyote down based on my description of where it was heading. Officers with Charlotte's CMPD animal control captured and euthanized the coyote later that night, just a few blocks from where I called it in.
