I give you a 'day in the life of a photography instructor' while teaching my Cape Breton photography workshop. It's not as glamorous as you might think. Half of the job is making sure the participants all get along. If we weren't trapped inside a cloud it wouldn't be too bad but in the absence of good light it doesn't take long before tempers get short. I make the most of a tense situation simply be telling participants what they want to hear. Mario learns from the master when it comes to using a circular polarizer to make the fog 'POP'. Brian suggests I get a proper job and Benku learns the power of switching to manual focus. Chris thinks outside of the box with a fog pano and Amanda demonstrates how to keep the bugs from invading. All in all, it's clear that my group have had the time of their lives even if that life might have been shortened due to hazardous conditions. Will the clouds lift and give us some spectacular Autumn images, why are we all wearing hideous hi-vis vests and did Shaunna really just fat-shame both of my cats?
