Dr. Joselli Deans, E.D.. is unearthing Black history in ballet that hasn’t been talked about much in classrooms across the country. It’s one of the big reasons why faculty at the University of Utah’s School of Dance worked for years to get her move to Salt Lake City. She has a solid academic background and distinguished experience in ballet with ties to the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York. Dr. Deans has been called by one colleague as a ‘living archive of American Dance History’.
