Without a compass: giving directions the Hawaiian way - Eavesdropping Traveler
I went looking for good shave ice on O'ahu. When I asked for directions, I didn't get the normal East-West or right-left kind of answers. I got a very Hawaiian answer instead. And now I share it with you.
Turns out, your language says a lot about how you've been taught to think about directions.
