The most notorious burger of the West Coast definitely does NOT disappoint. Although I haven't tried it yet - if it's anything like this, I'm bound to be impressed. Ingredients: - 2 hamburger buns - 4 thin beef patties - Salt and pepper - 2 slices of American cheese - For the spread: - 1/2 cup of mayonaisse - 2 tablespoons of ketchup - 1 tablespoon of mustard - 1 tablespoon of sweet pickle relish - 1 teaspoon of white wine vinegar - 1 teaspoon of sugar - Salt and pepper to taste - Lettuce - Tomato - Onion Instructions: 1. In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the spread: mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Set aside. 2. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. 3. Season both sides of the beef patties with salt and pepper. 4. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. 5. Place a slice of cheese on top of each patty. 6. Toast the hamburger buns for about 30 seconds or until golden brown. 7. Spread a tablespoon of the spread on each side of the buns. 8. Layer the patties and cheese on the bottom bun. 9. Add the lettuce, tomato, and onion on top of the patties. 10. Close the burger with the top bun. 11. Serve hot and enjoy!
