What does our Liver Do?
All the blood leaving our stomach and intestine passes through the liver. Liver processes the blood by breaking down the nutrients and chemicals the blood carries.
It then converts the nutrients into forms which are easier for the rest of our body to use. Liver also regulates the levels of most of the chemicals in our body.
The liver also filters out the waste products which our blood carries. Nutrients are sent back into the bloodstream while waste is excreted as a product called bile.
This bile is very helpful in breaking down the fats in our body and thus preparing them for further digestion and absorption.
Apart from this, the liver performs more than 300 separate functions, even the scientists are not completely aware of all of them.
