In Org Mode, tags can be used to correlate or group different tasks (or headlines) together, based on a context. Tags can be attached to any headline (not only task headlines) and they are displayed between colons.
In Emacs Doom, use `SPC m q` to assign a tag to the given headline. In Org Mode, headlines inherit tags from their parent headlines. They are also two ways of search for headlines by using tags. You can use org-agenda's tags search triggered by the `SPC o a m` which displays the results in a separate buffer; or, you can generate a sparse tree with the given tag by using `org-sparse-tree` or `org-tags-sparse-tree` functions.
Org Mode is considered to be the Emacs killer application. It is a personal knowledge management and outlining tools for Emacs. Org Mode documents are textual files. There is no proprietary format. Those files can be easily checked into a Git repository so that you can follow how they evolve over time.
