This means it can sometimes be hard to know which will govern the design of the precast elements. Precast concrete construction has many stages that typically govern the design of the precast element this is due to the elements being manufactured offsite and then transported to the site and to limit the amount of storage in the precast yard, so to minimise this, typically at the times of installation, the concrete is at a lower strength.
