I'm going to come right out and say what many people do which is buying things online with no sales tax. Long before mass purchasing online, this used to be a niche way to not pay sales tax. Technically, you are required to still report not paying sales tax and pay it on your own on your tax return. In terms of compliance, you can imagine not many people will actually follow through. This is widely known based on the tax revenue compared with online sales. So this video, I talk about how it can still be done today but you are still required to report it yourself on your tax returns. With the marketplace facilitator laws, this has somewhat plugged up this consumer loophole for most of America. Yet, still a large number of states have yet to pass this law.
Know that I am providing information of what is typical. Please consult your tax advisor for proper handling of such a situation. I am not a tax consultant and this video is not intended as tax advice or for you to not pay your taxes. Go pay your fair share please.
