Fenix OS was born with the aim of offering a faster, more powerful, secure, fun, free, customizable alternative to Windows and macOS , that does not cost money, robust, stable and respectful of privacy.
Our ambition is to compete with projects supported by large companies.
It is mainly aimed at those who believe that Linux is complicated to use (although if you already have experience you will surely like it too).
It is also full of applications and tools to demonstrate that with Linux and free open source software in the vast majority of cases you can do the same things as with operating systems and proprietary programs.
And how is this intended to be achieved?
With interfaces similar to other operating systems and proprietary programs so that they allow migrating to free alternatives, trying to shorten the learning curve as much as possible. ( There are also interfaces that try to make imitations go into the background).
With tools that facilitate its use.
Clarifications:
The goal with interfaces that look like other operating systems and programs is not to fool anyone, but rather the one described above.
Fenix OS has nothing to do with Microsoft ® or Apple ® and is not intended to harm their image. In case someone might confuse it, numerous ways have been incorporated to make this clear in our networks and within the distributions. The themes used are free: https://b00merang.weebly.com/desktop-themes.html (they contain some modifications made by androrama and grayduck).
About Fenix Linux
Because the creator of the project (Rubén/androrama) is from Spain, Spanish is the default language of the website temporarily. The rest of the languages are automatically generated translations since at the moment all efforts are put into the development of distributions and programs. We also have some limitations when editing more than one language, so we ask for patience and greatly appreciate your cooperation: https://discord.gg/v7CdQZFuuU
Fenix Linux (web, chat and social networks) is not only intended to provide download links, guides and inform about the news of our operating systems and programs, but you will also find many other things related to Linux and Free Software.
