With the Foreign Market Entry Programme (MEP), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action assists German Small and Medium-Sized Businesses during all stages of their export activities. Participating businesses receive widespread support from the initial stages of market exploration up to the making of actual business contacts, e.g., by providing first-hand market information, organizing exploration trips and building networks. Each year German SMEs can participate in around 150 business trips to almost 100 countries. The offer is based on the needs of the economy and reacts quickly to global development. The core of the program are business initiation trips on special key industries.
