Disclaimer: Boring Video.
This is a short video of me talking about an issue with my generic magsafe 2 ac adapter on my macbook pro.
Well. the light is either always green or no color at all.
From what I see,.. I probably need a new ac adapter. What broke on it?
There are 5 pins on the magsafe adapter... over time.. the pins get old.
At the very end.. the 1st and 5th pin on the adapter.. the pins no longer return back to their original position. I'm guessing these use some kind of spring mechanism to make them return back to their original position.
Basically because pins 1 and 5 are not returning back to their original position on the magsafe charger..., theres no way for them to make contact with the macbook connector. Simple huh?
Well, if you remove the adapter from the power outlet... you may be able to push the pins in and out until they return back to a long enough position to make contact with your laptops connector.
I'm hoping some people might have this same issue.
In my case, I'm able to still charge my laptop if I fidget with the 1st and 5th pins until they're long enough.
In the end, ... I should just buy a new ac adapter for my macbook pro 2013
