It doesn't matter if you're a paying subscriber or not. China is a no-go. So how do you watch Netflix in China? Despite China being notorious for restricting internet access, the problem here is not China, it’s Netflix. Not only do they enforce what’s known as “geo-restricting” on their content, they also try to actively block the VPNs and proxies used to circumvent this. So, what can you do? Well, there are a number of different options available to you. #1 *Virtual Private Network (VPN)* Didn’t I just say that Netflix actively blocks VPNs and proxies? Yes, but it’s all a game of cat and mouse. What’s important is that you find a VPN service that is willing to play the game, instead of giving up because it takes too much time and resources. I’ve had a lot of great success using ExpressVPN, Surfshark, Astrill, PureVPN, VyprVPN and others to watch Netflix in China (see links above). There are obviously many other services to choose from, but these are the ones I have personal experience with. My suggestion is to try a few different VPN services to find out which one works best and then connect using the fastest, often less-secure, protocol (such as PPTP). FYI...it’s not uncommon for me to get an error message in the middle of watching a show on Netflix. Usually, I just have to change the server or reload the show and everything goes back to normal. Often, this can be a faster option since you’re merely spoofing your location instead of redirecting all of your internet traffic through another server.
