Hi Guys!
Almost 2 years ago I built my newest PC. I used it daily while I was recovering from hurting my back, but once I went back to work, I neglected it. I would go weeks without checking on it. Unfortunately it became a cat roost without me knowing. The warm air coming from the exhaust fans was like a magnet. With the surface mounted power button, it was also prone to being powered on / off by the kitties.
About a month ago I tried to use it and found that it wasn't functioning. I was afraid the motherboard had died from cat hair. Thankfully a good cleaning and resetting the cables on the motherboard brought it back to life. A good deep cleaning and it is as good as new.
With it back up and running I wanted to find a way to protect it. I considered sewing a cover to place over the computer when not in use, but decided that it wouldn't protect it from cats powering it on and off. I thought about making a plexiglass case or something to cover it, but was afraid it would cut off air flow for cooling.
One night at work I thought about making some kind of hood or cover to put on top that would allow airflow but keep cats from laying directly on top of the case. That was when I came up with this idea. About a hour later in Tinkercad, this monstrosity came to life. It doesn't look the greatest, but I am positive it will keep my PC safe from the fur balls and keep my sanity (what is left) in tact. LOL!!!
Thank you very much for watching!!!
