The media have ran with the headline "rapper shoots journalist" for very obvious reasons, it gets more clicks.
I guess the reality isn't as glamorous a headline.
This so called rapper has one audio in existence.
Thats it that's his catalogue, so it seems in the Netherlands on song means you are a professional.
The 21-year-old suspect of shooting Peter R. de Vries (along with a Pool from Maurik) participated in the So You Think You Can Dance TV program in 2013.
He had registered a company at the Chamber of Commerce where singing, dancing and performing, and production was included in the description.
That company Demper was closed on May 27 this year and was at the address of Tiel where the police raided this week after his arrest.
It is true that Delano G. from Rotterdam/Tiel with Aruban roots was occasionally rapping, but it was not successful. He published only one video (see below) of a track on YouTube.
At the BNN/VARA website 101Barz, at the beginning of 2018, he himself posted the same track: Build Meself.
Roel Janssen wrote the book ‘Straight Outta Crime’ about gangster and street rappers.
He says about Delano G: "In the media, he's called a rapper, but if you have one track on the Internet, you're not a rapper right away.
Professional, the Building On Meself song doesn't sound, and I'd never heard of the name Demper.
There are reports that more videos of him circulated on YouTube, but they were quickly removed after the news came out that he was involved.
So that's not quite clear."
