Obergruppenführer John Smith receives an unexpected guest from Germany: Oberstgruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich. Arriving unannounced so as to avoid a hero's welcome, Heydrich inquires about the assassination attempt on Smith's life. After being asked about the real reason why he is in the American Reich, Heydrich explains that he has come to take Rudolph Wegener into custody. As Heydrich takes his coffee, Smith notices that Hauptsturmführer Connolly seems unusually familiar with "the man with the iron heart".
