he third episode in my series "Goofy Movie Cliches," this one is on what I call the Dying Informer.
The Dying Informer cliche involves characters who are near death. As they die, they divulge key information to other characters. This informs the living character, informs the audience, and keep the story going. But is it necessary to use?
Why do so many writers and screenwriters rely on this cliche? After all, it's not that realistic.
The video discusses scenes from the following movies:
-- Return of the Jedi
-- True Grit (2010)
-- Alien
-- Citizen Kane
-- Joe Versus the Volcano
-- Blade Runner
