To perform a safe combination change, you need the combination change tool. Normally this tool comes wit the safe when you bought it, but sometimes it does not. The reason the change tool may not come with the safe is because if something goes wrong while you are changing the safe combination, and you close the safe, you will be locked out. At that point, a locksmith will be required to come out and drill the safe then replace the dial lock. Drilling a safe is VERY expensive, so before attempting to change your own safe combination understand these two things: 1) You should understand the risk of changing a dial combination to a new combination. 2) You should always test test the new combination with the safe door open. This way, if it did not work and something went wrong, a locksmith can come out and reset the combination.
