This song was inspired by a post of Finn from "Finnished With It All" -- these stories and this music would not exist without her words.

~
You and I are one.
We are never gone.
Always meet again.
So, we say, "'Til then..."
It was under ancient starlight
We stared up at the sky,
It was darkness in the far night
Would leave us wondering why.
It was fear as much as wonder
As nightmares are to dreams.
It was darkness we slept under,
'Til broke by morning beams.
He came to me with just a name,
With history I could not trace.
.And so to him, I gave the same,
A mystery behind a face.
But words of trust would give away
That all he longed for was embrace,
And only comfort could he grace to me.
So, now not alone,
He was welcome home.
He stayed with me, a promise held
To stay forever and always.
Through everything were we compelled
To keep on counting through the days.
And so it felt that we should meld;
A bond unbreaking always stays,
If only not a transient phase, to fade.
And so each our own,
To each, become home.
I laid with him as sunlight sank
To the horizon and behind.
As brightness dimmed and volume shrank
We were at once left deaf and blind.
And laying still came from the blank
The voice in dark I always find,
The light in silence in my mind again.
And in whispered tone,
Swear I heard, "come home."
It is under ancient starlight
You stare up at the sky,
It's the void where once was "alright",
That leaves you gasping, "Why?"
It was that which left no border,
Unspoken, yet so real.
It leaves you in waking horror,
'Til broken's all you feel.
It comes to you so often now
You figure it never stays far.
Or is it you who does allow
This thing to you to always mar?
And you are left considering how
If you could be more than you are,
If you could burn this cursed scar away,
You could mend it sewn,
Finally come home.
But then the hands come from the walls;
No corner can protect you here.
They fill with holes, the structure falls,
The rubble penetrates your sphere.
The memories in shattered halls
Are fractured by incessant tears,
Refracting back the time in years since then.
And you've always known,
None's left to be shown,
You'd never come home.
You lay in dust of what has been,
Inhaling ash and choking hard.
You've given up, you've given in,
To all around you black and charred.
You close your eyes, and you begin
To see that sky dotted and starred
You could let this be your graveyard, but no.
With your last wind blown
To mesocyclone,
Shout into a storm,
You scream out, "come home!"
I hold the past like I hold a promise
You hold the future, you hold what's honest.
We hold the truth that none's without motion.
He holds a title, and that's all you know.
And to you, whose reflection I ponder each day,
He'll bring love to you, share in all the things you do...
And bring peace to you he may.
