Rick Altherr tells the story of how the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) came to exist, and describes the role they play in server architecture. Rick also goes into detail on the USBAnywhere vulnerability that they discovered at Eclypsium, and how it allowed an attacker to easily connect to a server and remotely mount any USB device of their choosing.
