So beginners or small streamers often sit right down at the bottom of the categories and never get any clicks, because nobody scrolls down 20,000 streamers to find them, and nobody uses the filters over here to check by recommended or smallest despite what you might hope. In reality, very few even check categories, most Viewers actually go straight to their Follower List or Favourite streamer meaning discovery on Twitch is relatively slow to start out. Think about it, when you type twitch.tv into your bar, it usually auto-completes to your favourite streamers channel, not to a specific category or the homepage. Channel page updates are rolling out right now slowly and should be rolled out for everyone by the end of the year, this means now Videos, Shorts, and Live Streams will have their own tabs on the channel, if you’ve uploaded each of them… no more unlisting Live streams, and of course that means, no more losing watch hours, but more importantly, uploading shorts without making your channel page look terrible and harder to locate your main videos. Quickly as well, they are experimenting with a new recommendation tool on channel pages so the subs who visit get videos or content on your channel recommended to them based on what they enjoy most, so if someone subscribed to you for shorts, they’ll see shorts rather than videos when they come to your channel.
