Some years ago I have the opportunity to take my wife and sons on a tour of Google headquarters in Mountain View, California. The tour guide was Megan Smith who was part of Google from the early days and is a famous (well-deserved) Silicon Valley icon in her own right having founded several companies. I shot the entire video with my GoPro which gave me access but on occasion less than high-quality audio and video. I had and have white hair and among the thousands of employees I saw that day, I rarely saw one old enough to have that characteristic. It was an amazing culture and you could feel that the employees felt very lucky to be there. In addition, there were at least 20 separate restaurants where you could go and eat different kinds of food. There was a barbershop. And so much more. Whatever you feel about Google, this highly experimental major international corporate headquarters was unlike anything I had ever seen before and in some ways, absolutely wonderful. There were lectures being given. There were people who had changed their offices into "tents." I do hope that this short video gives a sense of what it was and I suspect still is like
