Many ask what is the real world range of the cars and can the EPA rated range be trusted. The second is lots of people construct their own range tests as if they are more meaningful tham the official EPA tests, but they invariably drive them in a way that isn't typical.
We take the real world efficiency from thousands of cars over the last 30 miles (data available via the Tesla API) and compare it to the rated range. The results are surprisingly close of the M3 and MY non performance cars.
We have other videos that cover battery degradation and this can reduce the real world range, but only in the sense the battery capacity has shrunk, the battery range figure shown in the car is typically pretty accurate as a long term average for the M3 and MY.
