SIGGRAPH Frontiers hosts a 7-part, hands-on webinar, led by Rajesh Sharma (software engineer, Walt Disney Animation Studios). Designed as an introductory level course, participants in each workshop session will gain a strong understanding of the basic principles of ray-tracing. Modeled after Pete Shirley’s hugely popular Ray-Tracing in a Weekend book/course, Rajesh will help participants build intuition around ray tracing algorithms with related mathematics. We will build up to a fully functional ray-tracing based renderer over the course of 7 lectures. At the beginning of each class, Rajesh will have a live conversation with a speaker who is an expert in the topic of the day.
