In this lesson I will introduce you to common Hispanic first names, last names, nicknames, sweet names, rude names, and more. With this lesson you will learn so much more than Spanish. You will understand how we, native Spanish speakers talk to each other in a natural way. I will also teach you general differences about names between Spanish- and English-speaking countries, like why we seem to have so MANY names! We will start by reviewing some short forms for men's names and women's names such as the short forms for Francisco, Jesús, Dolores, María, Consuelo, and many more. We will also take a look at the most common Hispanic last names in Latin América. You will learn where to put the accent mark in Hispanic last names. You will also learn how to ask some useful questions about the nickname of a person, while being polite. Even more, I will teach you how to appropriately use very common abbreviations such as: Mr., Mrs., Miss.,: Sr., Sra., Srita., señor, señora, soñorita, and the less formal forms such as Don and Doña. You will learn to pronounce some of the strangest sounds of the Spanish alphabet correctly. You will learn Spanish with an explanation, a guidance to the correct Spanish pronunciation and the important details I give you about the Spanish language and its multiple, different, and colorful native speakers. This means you will not only learn or improve your Spanish; in fact, you will broaden your knowledge about Hispanics, their language and their multiple cultures and identities. Even more, since I will teach you some things that only Spanish speakers say or know, you leave your Hispanic lads in awe when you tell them their nicknames naturally, or when you tell them that their last name is the most common one in Latin America so they are not so special.
