This a simple time lapse of myself, Big Pouse, removing the old waney edge cladding from the 'pine end' of a gorgeous Bungalow in Somerset, and replacing it with new waney edge larch cladding. You'll see the new cladding is a lot more linear in shape nowadays. Unfortunately trees just aren't as big anymore, and as such cladding cut in current times contains less character. The old cladding had been up for over 40 years and had become rotten.
Regardless, the new cladding looks great and will slowly turn a silver colour over time. This was installed coming up 3 years ago at the time of posting and currently has turned a lovely colour. This was installed using 4x2 tanalised rails fixed vertically with concrete screws. The old rails were just nailed! The old cladding was then attached using high grade galvanised clipped heap collated framing nails.
