Marc Lamont Hill sits down with Dave Zirin, sports editor at The Nation, and Dorothy Roberts, professor of Africana Studies, law and sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, about the NFL pledging to stop “race-norming,” a practice that assumes that Black players start with lower cognitive functions.
“The only reason they’re saying this is because of emails that were leaked by ABC News by doctors who were administering these tests and saying, ‘This feels kind of racist. We’re not comfortable doing it,’” Zirin says.
Roberts says she believes that “race-norming” is a form of racial discrimination.
