The students who took to the streets out with patriotism and a sense of social responsibility at the cost of their lives. They deserve the respect and fair evaluation of history. But, as DAI Qing said, it was not the beginning of China's full-fledged democracy movement. There are too many lessons to be drawn:
1. May 4 is the best time to finish, at that time the party has already made positive comments on the students;
2. Hunger strikes should not be held, because they objectively provide a excuse for the government to impose martial law;
3. We should withdraw from Tian'anmen Square earlier than the beginning of June.
4. Strategically, the movement should not be too close to some forces in the Communist Party of China. It led to the movement's lack of its own independent values and political game strategies...
5. Even if there had been no tragedy in 1989, China would hardly be on the way to democracy. The course of history is often hard to speed up...
Looking back at 89 today, we should not forget this history, but also start from here, to the goal of those passionate young people's heart. This is worthy of the movement.
