Although there are instructions available to build LFS and MythTV from source, there is nothing that I am aware of that describes how to get the two of them working together. Here is my method for doing so. You'll notice that these videos are a bit rough around the edges. Although I've been working on this project on and off for some time, it is still work in progress. A few unexpected things happen and there are one or two mistakes during the recordings. This is because it's quite a complex process to identify dependencies that are required without leaving MythTV functionality compromised by a single missing dependency. It can be tricky setting up MythTV. If something doesn't work, trying to identify where the problem lies can take some time. Although I work from notes based on older versions of software, I build the latest versions (at time of recording: June 2023) of most packages. Therefore I am updating my notes at some points during the videos. I am still working on exactly what dependencies are required and which are superfluous. These videos show enough to get the core functionality (which is what most people would use) and one plugin, MythArchive working. As usual, all my videos are live recordings - they are unedited (except for any long breaks for example where the terminal is idle) so that you can see *everything* I do and compare your results to mine. If there is enough interest, I plan on redoing these videos (maybe after the next release of LFS) with all the rough edges polished off so I am looking forward to comments, suggestions, improvements etc. Thanks for watching!
