The Center for Justice Innovation (formerly the Center for Court Innovation), in partnership with the United States Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services, developed “Sharing the Solutions: Police-Court Partnerships to Address Homelessness” to share promising practices of local collaborations with the field. The Center convened over 20 police, court, behavioral health, peer specialists, housing, and policy experts from across the country to serve as advisors to this project. Advisory board meetings throughout this project, as well as one-on-one discussions with these experts greatly shaped this toolkit. Throughout a two-year process, the Center has met with numerous police and court partners to learn more about how their collaborations support one-another and to understand what works when addressing homelessness.
