Guillaum Détrerz born in 1982 is a secondary school music education teacher, trombonist and a French composer. He started learning the alto saxophone in a local concert band and then switched to the trombone. In 2000, he went on to study musicology at the University of Reims-Champagne Ardenne. He passes the Certificate of Competence for 2nd degree teaching. Then obtains the aggregate Music in 2021. Initially, Guillaume Détrez wrote some arrangements for choirs and then some arrangements for wind orchestra. He only really started composing while incarcerated in Covid, releasing Black Hills and La Montagne de Watten. In 2023, he won 2nd prize for a parade march entitled "Foire d'Antan" at the composition competition in the town of Allumière (Italy). Détrez is mainly inspired by the music of John Williams, Johan De Meij, Philip Sparke, Hans Zimmer, Otto Schwarz, Steven Reineke, among others. All works are published by Molenaar Editition.
