I started filmmaking in the late 1950s. Almost all of these recordings were made by me between that time and the early 1990s when I had people grow up at that time reflect on their thoughts and memories and considerations. I must admit I am somewhat fascinated with the 1950s not only because I grew up then but because it seems to me to be a defining moment in American history after which time things changed. I am not making a judgment about that. Just seems to be a fact to me.
