I have made many movies in my long career. I started so long ago that they were made in 16 mm! This is a small sampling of my home videos largely made with my family or by me just, talking to the camera. Why do I call them home videos? Because there's no big issue discussed, no famous people in them, no belief by me that they will never be popular – but they are very important to my family as legacy. I believe that every family needs to record themselves like I do in order to create meaningful legacy. Meaningless legacy is going to a ski resort for example and filming the family going down the mountain. Meaningful legacy is hearing & seeing people talk and say how they feel and how they see things. Future generations will care about those issues but not about something as mundane as a description of an address in a town a relative once lived in. The "facts" will be forgotten, but not people being themselves speaking to a camera sharing the lives as I tell my family for we record, for the future- speaking to the future.
