2017 OHM Festival OHM is an interdisciplinary art festival that I founded to showcase my students' sound-art and music. It has been expanded to include other fine and performing arts. I named this festival OHM for three reasons: 1) OHMS are a measure of electrical resistance. It's a gentle play on an audience's resistance to new things and implies our creative use of technology 2) The symbol for OHMS in physics is the Greek letter Omega. This is an oblique pun for our Jesuit charism as in "Christ is the Alpha and the Omega" 3) OHM is a homophone with OM, the meditative solemnization syllable. It reflects our openness and the Jesuit values of reflection and discernment I document, not only the May festival here, but the preliminary work leading up to OHM because process is as important as product, in my class.
